Open Webinars are now Open Sessions – why and what happened below! [Spoiler: it’s good news!]
You are on this page because you found it yourself through our content on LinkedIn or Facebook or because somebody who cares about you recommended it – and that somebody might be your current / former employer. From April 14 to June 10, 2020 we conducted 16 open and free webinars:
- over 500 participants
- over 32h of practical job search know-how recorded
Although the Open Webinars initiative has come to an end, we’ve decided to keep the content available – completely free of charge! Why? Because these are unusual times and there are a lot of job seekers who should have access to good, up-to-date materials that will help them in their job search: make it more effective, faster and less frustrating. You can find these and other recordings on the Career Angels’ YouTube channel. And even though they are recordings, we do recommend registering via Webinar@CareerAngels.eu for the following reasons:
- to get access to the preparation materials before every session
- to receive materials that are mentioned during the sessions afterward
- to access the LinkedIn or Facebook Open Webinars groups reserved for participants for networking and support purposes
The four online sessions will guide you through the job search process step-by-step:
Module 1: How to set a realistic goal & how to position yourself
The job market before COVID-19 was already competitive – an active candidate would usually compete against a min. of 200 – 1000 other candidates. This number is likely to double or triple over the coming weeks and months. It’s even more important to clearly set a goal which automatically translates into:
- how you define who you are on the job market
- what sets you aside from others
- why you – and not the other 2000 candidates – should be hired
- how to formulate your USP as a candidate
Module 1: https://youtu.be/oefVfZgekhU
Module 2: How to prepare a CV (also for ATS), LinkedIn Profile
We’ll show you how to prepare the basic tools of your job search:
- one CV version for the human recruiter
- one CV in the ATS software
- your optimized LinkedIn profile for both recruiters & the algorithm
Module 2: https://youtu.be/Npd8Px1AUGE
Module 3: How to find and contact recruiters and companies and how to network
In the last 3 years, the efficiency of those job search channels was the following:
- direct approach: 45.67%
- networking: 29%
- recruiters: 15%
- job ads: 10.33%
Every channel requires a different approach to be effective!
Module 3: https://youtu.be/Xmv0SUo_r_4
Module 4: How to prepare for an interview (especially online)
Interviewing in person is different from interviewing via online tools – in some ways the later is more difficult (on top of the IT part):
- you have to know how to answer standard questions
- it requires a higher level of communication skills, incl. listening, interpreting subtle body language, monitoring your own signals much more closely
- managing your environment
- how to go from ping-pong interviewing to strategic interviewing – ideally while actively building a relationship
Module 4: https://youtu.be/5u64He8aQn0
Important: all sessions are super practical. We will share the theory in a way that everybody will know how to proceed after the session. We do encourage you to register to have access to all preparation and reading materials. Send an email to Webinar@CareerAngels.eu Subject: Open Sessions. What have participants said about the content:
“I recommend the webinars not only to job seekers, but to everyone active on the market. Looking for a job is a complex, multi-stage and long process. It begins long before deciding to change a job. It is worth to have that knowledge in order to consciously manage all elements of this process and significantly improve your chances when such a need occurs.”
“The webinars made me realize how important it is to be precise when creating your LinkedIn profile and CV. […] Looking for a job is not only stressful, but it also requires a lot of diligence, determination and persistence.”
“I would definitely recommend your webinars not only to people looking for a job “right now“, but also to those who think of changing and who want to be well–prepared. I believe that they are useful to anyone, as the know-how is prepared and presented in a very concentrated manner.”
“Every minute is used at its fullest. They don’t lose time to repeat obvious things that everybody already knows. Everything is very practical, interesting and they share solutions which you can use and implement right after the webinar.”
